BRIEF PROFILE
Mabanag Spring Resort is another tourist attraction of the municipality of Mahayag and this can be found in barangay Tuboran, Mahayag, Zamboanga del Sur. It is about six (6) kilometers from the town proper going to the place. Luckily, it is passable for all types of vehicle such bus, van, jeep, habal habal motor and even single motor whether for public and private uses. Due to its cemented road, visitors are now hassle-free in reaching the area. In addition, the resort is adjacent to Eriberta Spring Resort wherein the guests can pass by before they arrive to Eriberta Spring Resort.
Like Eriberta Spring Resort, it is also gifted by unceasing flow of water with naturally chilly, fresh, clean and translucent appearance. The surroundings are well beautified with numerous and green trees that provide fresh air and spanking atmosphere. There are also cottages that can be used with a very affordable price and hygienic comfort rooms for free. There are swimming pools intended for children so that they can surely enjoy their swimming activity.
Furthermore, the resort is also redecorated by natural creations such as landscape ponds with colorful fishes, green trees, singing birds and toning water that can grasp the attentions of visitors. There is a designed bridge built within the swimming pool with lush trees where everyone can relax if being exhausted while doing a swimming activity.
The resort has a total land area of 9.7 hectares wherein some portions are under constructions and owned by Mr. Rogelio C. Mabanag, the former Punong Barangay of San Isidro, Mahayag, Zamboanga del Sur. There are twenty (20) employees including the laborers who are hospitable and friendly as they want to show to their guests how lovable Mahayagnon people are.
The entrance fee is only 30 pesos for adult while 20 pesos for children. To those who love to do Kayak activity, it is now in Mabanag Spring Resort for 150 pesos per hour. Everyone can avail the colorful cottages that surround the pools with different rates. Small cottages cost 250 – 500 pesos; wide cottage is 1,000 pesos while cottages with videoke cost 1,500 – 2,500 pesos.
